Paralegal for OSTTRA (Global Support)
The Team:
In this role, you will support the Osttra General counsel and the legal team in advising the organization on licensing, legal, regulatory, and related matters, including contract operations, development of best practices and governance, and project management. You will be a key partner to the broader Osttra organization as well as to divisional legal, risk, compliance, commercial, product, and business colleagues (including senior management) in addressing Osttra related matters. The Impact:
You are tasked with responding to internal client inquiries, providing valuable support in the handling of legal matters and all aspects of contract process, reviewing, and databasing, training the commercial organization on legal and contracting procedures, negotiating and drafting contracts for post-trade financial services, and assisting with special projects including development and execution of legal, contract, and legal operations related policies and procedures and strategic partnerships/M&A as needed.

Responsibilities:
- Assisting senior attorney in developing and training on appropriate policies and procedures, including in areas concerning licensing, anti-trust, marketing, privacy, and other regulatory matters
- Negotiate and draft various contracts such as product licenses, data vendor agreements, confidentiality agreements, software licenses, and amendments. You will be well-versed in commonly used alternate provisions and drafting customized contract provisions
- Draft legal correspondence and other documentation related to vendor and customer agreements
- Review, proofread and finalize contracts to ensure executable version is ready, including review for typographical errors, formatting and cross-referencing and covert documents from Word to PDF
- Take minutes at internal management meetings and committees
- Work with management to create efficiencies in the contracting process
- Develop playbooks and FAQs to help support business, product, and commercial licensing
- Develop and train on internal licensing procedures and systems
- Develop, maintain, and update boilerplate/standard forms as needed and in response to changing markets and industry trends and practices
- Ensure that executed contracts are entered into the Department's contract database on a timely and accurate basis
- Participate in and/or lead projects, including for strategic partnerships and due diligence activities related to acquisitions and divestiture
What We're Looking For:
Basic Qualifications:
- Excellent EQ and interpersonal skills. You should be people oriented, collegial, and confident with frequent client-facing interactions (via e-mail, phone, and in-person)
- 3-4 years paralegal or closely related experience in business/legal affairs, preferably in-house
- Has a can-do attitude, able to work under pressure, tight deadlines and to manage the expectations of clients and salespeople
- Strong verbal/written communication and business writing abilities
- Ease with working independently but advancing issues as needed
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to learn quickly and handle multiple and competing priorities simultaneously
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to details
- Ability to work effectively in line with changing priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Skilled use of Salesforce and contracts tool within the platform
- Working Experience in the financial services industry and coordinating with sales and product management departments
- Advanced knowledge and experience of Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Adobe, Outlook, and PowerPoint as well as familiarity with a contract database-type system
- Prior experience with Privacy or other regulatory matters
- Prior experience supporting company secretarial teams, including minute taking
